Released today in 1987: She

Chrysalis COLF7

Chrysalis COLF7

This was a cover version, but not of the Charles Aznavour song: this She was written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart, who wrote it and many other songs for manufactured band The Monkees to perform on their TV show.

The Colourfield’s Terry Hall did go on to cover the other She as well. In the early 90s he teamed up with Dave Stewart from Eurythmics to form Vegas, and it was their second single. Aznavour himself made a cameo appearance in the promotional clip filmed for it.
