Released today in 1985: Won’t You Hold My Hand Now

CBS A6096

CBS A6094

What a difference a year makes. Or, in the case of Won’t You Hold My Hand Now, what a difference less than six months makes. A flop the first time it was released (October 1984), this time it makes #24 for Paul King’s band King, off the back of the near chart-topping success of previous single Love and Pride at the beginning of 1985. That was also a reissue, it having failed to chart when released in early 1984. It seems CBS were sure they had a couple hits on their books and it was just a matter of repeatedly reminding the public.
